Mentor Recruitment Strategy for Youth Pastors

We know you are busy!
Thank you for visiting us at MentorYouth com.  We recognize that you are mentoring young people every week and that your schedule is maxed out.  But we also believe that you care about other young people in your community.  So, you might ask, “What can I do to get our church involved in mobilizing some of our adults to be mentors in the community?”

Your Role
The most important step you could take is to find an interested adult, who has been or is a mentor or just believes in this opportunity, which would be willing to be your church’s Mentoring Ambassador.  This person is taking up the challenge to be the voice for the kids in your community wanting an adult to care about them.  Your Ambassador can use our Recruitment Kit and other promo materials for free. The kit contains a DVD and a foldout poster that, on one side, has three church strategies to get the word out.  Our website is an ever-changing resource for encouragement and new ideas to keep the Ambassador motivated!

Simple goal
Our simple goal is that a church would at least try to recruit 5 to 10 people to MentorYouth.com to “Find an Opportunity” and click on a program of interest.  The mentoring program takes it from there through screening, placement and training.  You may discover in the process some more adults who didn’t know how much they love working with young people.  Everybody wins!

Expanding YOUR ministry
There is no doubt that many everyday believers in your congregation haven’t or won’t likely volunteer in your youth ministry - for many different reasons.  However, many of those same adults – young and old – can imagine helping one kid, in a limited amount of time each week.  Our vision is that large numbers of young people in every community might be helped and loved by caring “salt and light” people!  What a fantastic bridge back to your youth group, if those young people desire to get involved.  We hope that God gives you and your Ambassador a vision for this important calling.  You could double the size of your volunteer team!
